4/8/22 Friday Update

Good afternoon Alcott School Community,
I hope you all enjoyed your spring break.  We are feeling the temperature and excitement as we prepare for our final months of the school year.
Our mask mandate has been lifted; however, it is very important that all our families, students and staff respect the individual decisions regarding wearing or not wearing masks.  I am including the below link that we are using at school with our students to help with this very important and individual choice.  Review and discuss with your children and let me know if you have any questions.  The safety of our school community remains a priority. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1ro4qY-lVKL7L06liGIuSULhNASVPMSDn8A5HDs8zHqM/edit?usp=sharing
Pizza w/ the Principal will feature leaders and scholars from Ms. Rannazzisi, Ms. Smith, Ms. Hemingway/Mr. Neri
Alcott Open House:  Mark your calendars today May 19th from 5:00-6:00.  We are going to celebrate.  Food, fun, and smiles.
Class Meetings:  As we continue to provide weekly opportunities for our students to use “I Statements” and resolve conflicts, I want all our families to know that we are the safe adults here to support your children.  Many students are struggling with peer relations, and we are concentrating our efforts on providing safe spaces and opportunities to validate and empower our Alcott Owls.
Job opportunities at Alcott:  are you interested in joining our Amazing Team?  We have paid positions available and providing jobs for our families is a goal of mine.  Be part of this movement!
This week’s Feeling Word of the Week (FWOW) is LONELY. Be sure to check out our new Whiteboard that will display the FWOW and have a new message for our school community.  This whiteboard will be out near the crosswalk each morning and at dismissal.  Be sure to engage your children weekly with our FWOW.
Enjoy your weekend.
