4/29/22 Friday Update

Good afternoon Alcott School Community,
Hard to believe we are entering the month of May.  This year is “flying by” and I am proud of our staff, students, parents, and school community for making our return to school smooth.  It has not been easy; however, we have met our goal to create that welcoming school culture at Alcott Elementary School.  As I have stated many times, we are far from perfect but our commitment to you and your children is real and drives us to be better each day.  KUDOs to all of you…you continue to fill our Buckets.
Next week is Staff Appreciation Week:  All Alcott staff members (infant/toddler staff and elementary staff will be honored and celebrated.  Our amazing team includes close to 90 staff, and your support is critical in “filling their buckets”.  Please note the following information from our PTA and be sure to follow the daily activities so your student can “fill their teacher’s, aide’s” bucket.  Open attachment for the Day-to-Day activities and what your child can bring to school as a “thank you”.  ,Teacher Appreciation .jpg
SGT:  Site Governance Team:  parent nominations: be sure to refer to my Monday message and the google document requesting your nominations for Alcott’s SGT (Site Governance Team):  The nomination process closes on Monday.  If interested, be sure to nominate yourself on the google document that I sent to all families last week. Our vision is possible, but we need your involvement.
Mark your calendars: Open House on May 19th from 5:00-6:30. Details will be sent soon.
Pizza w/ the Principal will feature leaders and scholars from Ms. Smith, Ms. Hemingway/Mr. Neri, Ms. Rannazzisi.
We are still trying to offer our families a chance for employment at Alcott:  Are you or someone you know interested in working at Alcott and joining our amazing team?  We have paid positions available and providing jobs for our families is a goal of mine.  Be part of this movement!
This week’s Feeling Word of the Week (FWOW) is DISAPPOINTED. Be sure to check out our new Whiteboard that will display the FWOW and have a new message for our school community.  This whiteboard will be out near the crosswalk each morning and at dismissal.  Be sure to engage your children weekly with our FWOW.
Enjoy your weekend.
