Good afternoon Alcott School Community,
What a fantastic week 1 at Alcott. We have all envisioned this day and although we will have challenges, we have our students and staff back and on-site. It's time to celebrate and remain fully aware that our COVID protocols must remain strong. It's simply just too important for our school community.
My personal highlight has been seeing each of you and your children on the crosswalk. I have missed this connection and thank you for your kind words each day.
Your children came home today with a blue "ropetie" backpack that contains important back to school information and documents. Be sure to carefully review the paperwork and return all requested items on Tuesday. Pay careful attention to the calendar which outlines all our minimum days. As you are aware, all Wednesdays are minimum days; however, there are several other minimum days that will require students to be picked up at 12:45. These are our staff professional development days that allow us to review student data and inform our teaching practices to best support our kids. These are the days we focus on our self-reflection that allow us to provide the best conditions for learning possible for you and your children. Our next Minimum Days (outside of Wednesdays) are: Friday; September 17 and Monday; September 27. Be sure to mark your calendars for the 12:45 dismissal on those days.
A few other reminders:
Next Thursday: September 9th (6:00-7:00 p.m.) is our virtual Back-To-School Night. Although I had hoped to be greeting all of you in person, we will be holding this year's event via zoom. Details and links will be sent next week.
PARENTS ON CAMPUS: Reminder: due to COVID strick protocols, parents are not allowed on campus at this time. I know this is difficult but we must follow this rule to ensure the safety of all of us and more importantly, to keep our school open.
