Early update due to holiday!
Good afternoon Alcott School Community,
Who’s excited about the 4-Day weekend? I asked that of our students and staff during Monday’s Morning Message, and hands were up faster than I anticipated. We all deserve this weekend break and I hope you can spend some quality time with friends and family.
Our recent outdoor mask mandate option has been received well. We continue to provide staff and students with a choice and we honor all our team members with whatever choice they have chosen. With many of our team opting to go mask free outside, it has been wonderful to see smiling faces!
FIELD TRIPS UPDATE: Effective Feb. 16, all field trips are permitted to resume for both indoor and outdoor venues. All health and safety guidelines for the venue must be followed. In addition, all students and staff are required to wear a mask on the bus and indoors while on field trips (regardless of venue policy).
Assemblies: As per the indoor guidance, all assemblies, and rallies must be held outdoors only, even when planned off-campus. We are looking forward to some upcoming outdoor assemblies. More to come.
Your school psychologist and counselor, Ms. Worley and Ms. Campbell, are heading up several Wellness Committees at Alcott. There are family/guardian surveys that will be coming your way soon and your feedback will be instrumental in our planning and my conversations regarding your/our needs during my district 1-1 meetings.
This week’s FWOW (Feeling Word of the Week) is ANGER. Be sure to use this word with your children at home, during dinner time conversations, and at family time. Our classroom teachers will be engaging students in what ANGER is and we can learn to deal with this emotion in more productive ways.
Pizza with the Principal next week will be celebrating 9 Leaders and Scholars from Mr.Neri/Ms. Hemingway, Ms. Smith, Ms. Rannazzisi (3 per class = 9 total will join me). Students will be selected by teachers for demonstrating what it means to be a bucket filler at Alcott. Be Kind: Be a Bucket Filler!

- Minimum Day schedule Friday, February 25th (TK-5th grades only). This is a staff professional development day for grades TK-5.
